Brian Laudrup believes Christian Eriksen can only improve as the Tottenham Hotspur schemer has age on his side.

In a season where Tottenham have been inconsistent, Eriksen has also struggled to find a consistent run of form.

His performances at White Hart Lane have not been up to scratch, which has also affected Spurs’ game as the Dane is an important part of Mauricio Pochettino’s attacking unit.

The 22-year-old also came under harsh criticism from Denmark manager Morten Olsen last month, but he redeemed himself with his performance against Serbia last week.

But the former Denmark international Laudrup feels that people sometimes forget that Eriksen is still very young and has the ability to improve and serve his country for a number of years to come.

“He’s very young which is what we tend to forget at times”, the 45-year-old told Tottenham’s official site.

“Back home for the national team he’s got almost 50 caps and he’s only 22.

“He can definitely look to get 100 caps for Denmark, we’re looking at more like 130 or 140.

“If he can look after himself and not get any injuries then he can play for another 10 years.”
