Daley Sinkgraven’s father feels that his son should put earning regular playing time at the heart of his decision when it comes to making a move.

Heerenveen midfielder Sinkgraven has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United and the club’s Dutch manager, Louis van Gaal, has been impressed by the player’s exploits in the Eredivise.

Ajax are also in the mix for the highly-rated Heerenveen schemer and many feel that a transfer to the Dutch giants would be a more logical career move.

His father, Harry Sinkgraven, will be in the crowd when Heerenveen take on Ajax this weekend and he is closely monitoring his son’s progress.

The former FC Groningen man admits that he is aware that there is interest in Daley from some big clubs, but said much of it is still in the realm of speculation.

But he believes that after just one season, his son should ideally concentrate on gaining more experience rather than being distracted by transfer rumours.

“Of course there is interest from some regular clubs but much of it still speculation”, Harry told De Telegraaf.

“What do I think is best for him? He is only 19 and this is his first year in the Eredivisie.

"He has to continue to have playing time."
