Celtic have been handed a boost with club captain Scott Brown signing a new contract.

The midfielder has put pen to paper on a four-year contract extension, which will see him stay at Celtic Park until the summer of 2018.

Brown has been quick to express his delight, telling his club's site: "This is a place that I call home.

"Being Celtic captain is a tremendous honour. It is a role I cherish dearly."
