Neil Redfearn knows who out of Giuseppe Bellusci and Liam Cooper will get the vote to face Blackburn Rovers in a Championship clash this weekend.

Bellusci has been serving out a suspension, which has now come to an end, and Cooper has acquitted himself well in his absence.

Cooper even scored in Leeds' 3-1 win over Blackpool before the international break, further complicating Redfearn's selection dilemma.

However, the manager has made his choice and believes the most important thing is being honest with the man he leaves out, just as he is with all players at Elland Road.

"Yeah, I've got a good idea in my mind [who will play]", he told a press conference.

"But the bottom line is now it's put us in a good situation because now we've got competition, which is healthy. If we can keep consistency and build the team, then the players that are in the side know that they have to fight to keep their shirts.

"And the players that are trying to get in the side know that they've got to play even better to get in the side.

"You've got to be honest with people, you've got to be straight up front and you've got to give them a valid reason for why you're going to do what you're going to do…whoever it is", Redfearn added.

"I've been like that all the way down the line. I think if I don't lie to them, if I'm honest with them then there's no comebacks and I think that's how it's got to be."
