Everton manager Roberto Martinez has refused to rule out Leighton Baines for his side’s upcoming Premier League fixture against West Ham United on Saturday.

The left-back picked up a hamstring injury while on international duty with England last week, and missed the Three Lions’ matches against Slovenia and Scotland after returning to Everton.

And Martinez, who insisted that the Toffees are regularly keeping tabs on Baines, is however unsure whether the 29-year-old will be involved against the Hammers at Goodison Park.

"We're checking Leighton Baines on a daily basis; we're not sure if he'll be fit for West Ham but you can never rule him out”, he said at a press conference.

Martinez further added that Gareth Barry, who suffered ankle ligament damage against Sunderland earlier in the month, is also doubtful for the weekend.

“We are also not sure if Gareth Barry will be ready", he added.

Everton, who drew 1-1 with the Black Cats before the international break, are currently 10th in the Premier League standings with 14 points from 11 outings.
