West Ham United’s Andy Carroll has admitted that it will be tough for him to break into the club's starting line-up, owing to the prospering strike partnership between Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia.

The summer signings have already scored nine Premier League goals between them, which have enabled the Hammers to move up to fourth in the standings with 18 points from 11 games.

And Carroll, who recently returned to action after a long-term injury, feels it will be tough for anyone, and not just strikers, to force their way into the team due to West Ham’s superb all-round displays in the current campaign.

"It's tough to displace anyone in the team, anyone that's been playing, not just Sakho and Valencia”, he explained to the club’s official site.

“We've been playing fantastic football, we've been scoring goals and creating a lot of chances with all the players in the squad.

Carroll, who underwent ankle surgery in July, made his first appearance of the season when he came on as an injury-time substitute during West Ham’s goalless draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League before the international break.
