Brendan Rodgers wants Liverpool to become a tough team to beat as they approach a crucial run of games.

Liverpool will take an away trip to Crystal Palace on Sunday and then will travel to Bulgaria to take on Ludogorets Razgrad in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Reds are desperate to get back to winning ways in the league and need all three points in Bulgaria to keep their hopes of qualifying for the next round of Champions League alive.

And the manager wants Liverpool to forget whatever has happened this season or last term and concentrate on becoming more resolute as a team.

The Northern Irishman wants his team to develop a tough streak and become a difficult side to play against.

"We can't worry about what we had last season or what we have lost”, Rodgers told the club’s official site.

“We have to look at the players we have. We have an exciting period of games coming up.

"We want to ensure we go back to our basics and be really hard to beat and be strong and aggressive.”

With Daniel Sturridge out for another six weeks, Rodgers believes the other strikers in the team now have an opportunity to show their worth.

"We want to make an impact in front of goal. Now there's an opportunity for some players who didn't think they would get a chance."

Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini have not managed a single league goal between them this season.
