Legendary former AC Milan manager Arrigo Sacchi believes Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid team are comparable to his great Rossoneri side.

Sacchi is one of the most celebrated managers in AC Milan’s history, and he won back-to-back European Cups in 1989 and 1990.

Ancelotti was part of Sacchi’s great Milan side and the 68-year-old is impressed with what his pupil has done at Los Blancos.

Ancelotti, who won the Champions League twice at Milan, delivered La Decima at Real Madrid last season and his side have been in scintillating form this term too, both in La Liga and Europe.

And Sacchi feels Ancelotti’s Real Madrid are similar to his great Milan side of the late 1980s and early 1990s.

“I love it, Carlo has done a fantastic job”, the 68-year-old told AS.

“When you have lot of talented players, each one is waiting for the other to make the run. Envy, jealousy, ego, it is difficult to maintain control of these things.

“And when I look at Madrid, I see a team spirit and a sense of togetherness.

“In some ways they remind me of my great Milan side.”
