Juventus have confirmed that Giorgio Chiellini has signed a contract extension with the club.

The defender was signed by Juventus in the summer 2004 from Livorno, but was immediately sold in a co-ownership deal to Fiorentina before the Bianconeri re-signed him the next season.

And the Italy international, who put pen to paper on a new deal, which will see him remain at the Juventus Stadium until 2018, was delighted to extend his stay with the Italian champions.

“It’s an emotional day for me and I’m really proud to be here”, he told the club’s official site.

“Today I’m looking back and thinking about all the people over the past ten years who have helped me grow and feel at home here.
