Sporting Lisbon coach Marco Silva is tired of rumours surrounding a potential return to Manchester United in January for winger Nani.

Louis van Gaal shipped out the underperforming winger on loan to Sporting Lisbon in the summer with Manchester United paying his full wages.

Unlike last season at Old Trafford, Nani has been in scintillating form this term at Sporting Lisbon and is well on his way to resurrecting his career in Portugal.

His performances with the Lions have given rise to speculation that Manchester United are keen to bring back the 27-year-old to England in January.

But the Sporting Lisbon coach is unsure from where all the speculation is flying as he hasn’t heard anyone from Manchester United who has talked about Nani’s potential return to the club in the winter transfer window.

“I do not know why so much noise is being made about Nani at the moment”, Silva said in a press conference.

“I have not seen the manager or any executive at Manchester United talk about a possible return for Nani.

“He has been working hard and is fully committed towards Sporting.”
