FC Basel defender Fabian Schar admits that it is an honour for him to be linked with a big club such as Juventus.

The Swiss international defender’s contract with Basel is set to expire next summer and it is believed that Schar is keen to make a move in January or at the end of the season.

Arsenal and Barcelona were linked with a move in the summer, but Basel managed to hold on to the defender. However, it seems the 22-year-old is finally to ready to make a move away from Switzerland.

The Bianconeri are monitoring the defender’s progress at Basel and are keen to make a move for him in the winter transfer window or at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old said that he is honoured that Juventus are interested in him and said that he would be keen on playing in Serie A.

“It's satisfying to know that a great team like Juventus are thinking about me”, Schar was quoted as saying by Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

“The Italian league is very interesting, and every player would like to compete in it."

Juventus also share a good relationship with Schar’s agents, which give them an added advantage in the race to secure the defender’s signature.
