Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has insisted that his game has improved significantly as he now runs more than he used to two years ago.

The 24-year-old, who moved to Merseyside this summer from AC Milan, is yet to open his Premier League account for the Reds this season, adding to manager Brendan Rodgers' owes up front.

The former Manchester City striker though does not see any reason to worry about his present goalscoring form, as he believes that goals will automatically come if he keeps his hard work going.

Assessing his current progress, Balotelli gave himself a seven out of ten, half a point more than he gave himself two years earlier, adding that he now runs more than before, which he believes is good for his progress.

"I run more than before", Balotelli told Fox Sports Australia.

"Goals, they will come. It is something that’s just not coming at the moment.

"Run, like I’m running now, I’ve never run like this.

"So I give a half point more [to myself].”

Balotelli's side are currently langushing in a disappointing eleventh position in the Premier League table with 14 points from eleven matches and will visit Selhurst Park this weekend to take on Crystal Palace.
