Leeds United defender Sam Byram feels the Whites will receive a real boost from their travelling support away at Blackburn Rovers later today.

The Elland Road outfit are one of the best supported sides in the Championship and, with the trip to Blackburn's Ewood Park a relatively short one, are expected to take a large following.

It has even been suggested as many as 7,000 Leeds fans could be in attendance for the clash.

And for Byram, that can only be of huge benefit to the Leeds players.

"I saw on Twitter the other day that we were taking a big following", he told LUTV.

"Obviously playing away from home you are at a disadvantage with the crowd but the Leeds fans are a loud bunch on away trips.

"It really does help when they get behind us.

"It really shows the commitment. Some people really do give up their weekends to come and watch us and the players don’t forget about that.

"We know how hard it is for some fans to get to the games and we massively appreciate it."
