Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho believes it is clear to see what difference two weeks' rest has made to Diego Costa, who scored in today's 2-0 win over West Brom.

The Blues took the lead through in-form Costa in the eleventh minute, the Spain international showing no sign of the hamstring issues which have troubled him this term and which it is now claimed are a thing of the past.

They then doubled their lead in the 25th minute through Eden Hazard, with West Brom able to offer little in reply, not helped by the sending off of Claudio Yacob on the half-hour mark.

Chelsea utterly dominated possession and shots on goal as they eased to a comfortable 2-0 victory.

Mourinho was delighted with Costa's shape and fitness and feels being left out of the Spain squad over the international break has helped the striker.

"It's easy to see the difference in him now, because now he can run, he can sprint, he can challenge for every duel", Mourinho told the BBC.

The Portuguese also poured praise on his side for their comfortable victory.

"It was comfortable but I thought in the first half we played amazingly well. In the first half we have to be 3-0, 4-0, 5-0 up.

"But the quality of our football was there. I don't remember seeing many times football of that dimension."
