Sam Allardyce is fuming that his West Ham side went down 2-1 against Everton today, feeling when the Toffees scored their winner his team were in complete control of the match.

West Ham named Andy Carroll in the starting line-up, but saw themselves slip behind to a Romelu Lukaku goal in just the 26th minute.

However, West Ham hit back and levelled through Mauro Zarate, who scored in the 56th minute, just five minutes after being brought off the bench.

But Everton did enough to score again, through Leon Osman in the 73rd minute, and saw out the game to claim victory.

Allardyce was left hugely frustrated at his side losing at Goodison Park and admits he has no idea how they are leaving Merseyside empty handed.

"I'm frustrated with my own team for losing even though they had to recover from a very poor decision for their opener", he said via his club's feed.

"I'm going to wake up tomorrow and wonder how we didn't manage to get anything.

"I'm most disappointed with the fact we conceded their winner when we were completely in control of the game", Allardyce added.

"The most disappointing thing for us is conceding off a breakaway and not taking our chances."
