Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock feels his side produced the best performance of his time in charge so far to put Liverpool to the sword, 3-1, at Selhurst Park today.

Liverpool started without Mario Balotelli and Jordan Henderson, the former out with a groin injury and the latter with illness.

But Liverpool took the lead when Rickie Lambert hit the back of the net after just two minutes at Selhurst Park.

It was not to be the start of a good afternoon though, as it soon became apparent that Liverpool's defence were struggling with Crystal Palace's pace.

And Dwight Gayle drew the hosts level in the 17th minute.

Liverpool enjoyed more possession, but Palace were comfortable and took the lead through Joe Ledley in the 71st minute.

And Mile Jedinak then pounced in the 81st minute to seal a famous win for the Eagles, condemning Liverpool to a fourth straight loss.

Warnock was understandably delighted and feels it was the best his side have performed since he took charge in the summer.

"That was the best performance since I have come back to the club. I thought the weather helped. Our crowd were fantastic", he said via his club's feed.

"The first goal was disappointing, but you can score too early sometimes. We created some good chances. I'm pleased to get three goals.

"I thought we got rewarded for playing good football. We looked really organised and difficult to break down."
