Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer believes his club's fans helped inspire the team to a come-from-behind win over Leeds United yesterday.

Rovers fell behind at Ewood Park to a 33rd minute Souleymane Doukara goal and headed in at the half-time break trailing 1-0.

But striker Jordan Rhodes took advantage of a defensive mix-up between Leeds goalkeeper Marco Silvestri and defender Liam Cooper to level the match, while he then scored a second from the penalty spot, securing Rovers a 2-1 win.

Bowyer was delighted and feels the 21,432 crowd at Ewood Park played their part.

"It was the best atmosphere that this football club has had for a long time now", he told Radio Rovers.

"The supporters today had Ewood Park rocking, rocking to the point that it reminded me of what it was like when I first arrived at the club in the Premiership days and full credit to them.

"The support they gave, they never gave up and it was a really good atmosphere.

"You saw the power that they played today, it inspired the players, our fans were superb", Bowyer added.
