Brendan Rodgers does not believe his Liverpool job is safe come what may.

Liverpool slipped to a 3-1 defeat away at Crystal Palace today, their fourth consecutive loss and sixth out of 12 Premier League games so far.

It is a far cry from last term, when Rodgers led the Reds to second place and within a whisker of the title.

In Europe the picture is no better, with three defeats in four Champions League group games, their only win against Bulgarian minnows Ludogorets Razgrad.

And Rodgers says he does not take it for granted that his job is safe.

"I'm not arrogant to think I'll be in a job through anything. You have to win games", he was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"I've got a great communication line with the owners – we are honest and open with each other. But we have to get results and perform", Rodgers continued.

"I will only ever do my best – I need to fight even harder and take responsibility."
