Barcelona coach Luis Enrique believes that Lionel Messi's La Liga goals record will never be beaten.

Messi hit a hat-trick in Barcelona's 5-1 win over Sevilla at the Camp Nou last night, moving on to 253 La Liga goals and making him the league's all-time top goalscorer.

Messi surpassed former Athletic Bilbao hitman Telmo Zarra, who scored 251 goals.

And Enrique does not feel Messi's feat will ever be beaten, so good is it.

"He's a unique player – there'll never be anyone like him and we're lucky to enjoy his presence here", he was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"I think he will leave the record unreachable for anyone else.

"Zarra beat it in an age when there were more forwards than defenders", the Barcelona manager added.

Messi's great rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, has 197 La Liga goals to his name. However, Ronaldo is two years older than Messi.
