Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes there is something wrong in the Reds' dressing room and has accused Brendan Rodgers' men of being mentally weak and able to be bullied.

The club's former defender watched Liverpool slip to a 3-1 defeat away against Crystal Palace today, despite having taken the lead in the 2nd minute of the match.

Liverpool have now lost their last four games in all competitions, while the defeat also represented their sixth defeat in 12 Premier League games this term, plunging the Reds into crisis.

And Carragher has not pulled any punches in his criticism of his former team-mates.

He said on Sky Sports: "This is more than just a poor start, there’s something wrong. Mentally weak, no leadership on the pitch, and as a Liverpool fan, the worst thing you can ever see is them being bullied, and being weak, and that’s what we’ve seen today, and not for the first time. It’s been happening all season.

"Liverpool aren’t being beat by quality, they’re being bullied, they’re being beaten by enthusiasm. After the [Crystal Palace] goal Liverpool offered no enthusiasm, no threat. They’re mentally and physically weak", he continued.

"They’re mentally and physically weak. There’s no leadership there. It was the same last year. I’m very worried as a Liverpool fan."

Carragher also feels that despite spending over £100m on new players over the summer, Liverpool still need to add four of five fresh faces.

"Talk about players taking time to settle in, but you’re looking at them and thinking, they need four or five players."
