Brendan Rodgers says he has no issue with Mario Balotelli having been out on Saturday night.

Balotelli missed Liverpool's 3-1 defeat away at Crystal Palace today with a groin injury picked up on international duty with Italy.

The former Manchester City man was spotted in the crowd at the boxing match between Tony Bellew and Nathan Cleverly at the Liverpool Echo Arena on Saturday night.

But Rodgers brushed off Balotelli not being at Selhurst Park and supporting his team-mates.

"He was free and not involved", Rodgers was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"It was local, not too late. so it's not a problem.

"We will assess his injury over the next few days", Rodgers added.

It remains to be seen whether Balotelli will be fit to be involved in Liverpool's Champions League game away at Ludogorets Razgrad on Wednesday night.
