Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has demanded showdown talks with Arsene Wenger as his playing time at the Emirates Stadium continues to diminish.

Podolski warmed the bench against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday and even when Arsenal required goals to get back into the match, he was not thrown into the action.

Podolski has seen only around 46 minutes of first team football this season in the league and has made only one start in the whole season, in the League Cup.

The German is understandably frustrated, but is keen to talk to the manager before making any decision on his future.

Though Wenger has stated that he is not thinking about selling the player, the forward has revealed that the current situation is untenable.

“I have to try to talk with Arsene Wenger”, Podolski told Kicker.

“I love London, I like the club but I do not appreciate the current situation.

"I am not a buffoon who will sit out his current contract.”

Juventus and Galatasaray have maintained their interest in Podolski since the summer.
