Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has vowed to return to action soon and explained he will not be disheartened by his injury woes.

Sturridge has been injured since September, first picking up a thigh problem while on international duty with England.

The 25-year-old then suffered an issue with his calf, before being struck by a fresh thigh problem after he returned to Liverpool training.

He will now not play again until the new year and his absence at Anfield has been keenly felt.

"Through all this I'm growing as a man and an athlete", he said via his Twitter account.

"Another door to break down. I'll be back soon enough – strong and ready.

"Everybody goes through things in life that can make or break them", Sturridge continued.

"This for me is another hurdle to jump over."

Liverpool have lost six of their 12 Premier League games this term and are desperate for Sturridge to make his return.
