Leeds United left-back Stephen Warnock feels it is vital the Whites earn a result against Derby County next weekend.

Neil Redfearn's men went down 2-1 away at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, despite leading the game 1-0 at half-time and then playing against ten men for the last ten minutes.

Now Warnock feels it is crucial Leeds get a result when Championship leaders Derby visit Elland Road next weekend.

"We need a result. We need to get points on the board and start climbing the table", the defender told LUTV.

Warnock also believes that, along with Mirco Antenucci, it is his job as a senior player to rally the young starlets and not let their heads drop.

"We're a young team, bar myself and Mirco, so the rest of the [senior] lads around the place have to try and lift the lads and get them going", he added.

Derby currently sit top of the Championship on 35 points from 18 games, while Leeds, who are 16th, have earned 20 from the same number of matches.
