Bayern Munich midfielder Xabi Alonso has revealed that manager Pep Guardiola has taught him to be always on his toes and improve after each training session.

The 32-year-old, who joined the Bavarians from Real Madrid this summer, has described his experience at his new club as something unique, praising the former Barcelona boss for bringing in new concepts to training session every time.

This, Alonso believes, makes Guardiola stand out among the other managers he has played for throughout his career so far.

Speaking about his growth curve with Bayern Munich, Alonso thanked the manager for having kept him ever ready to contribute to the team.

"He tries to improve in each training session", Alonso told UEFA's official site.

"For every game, he tries to bring new things to the team, to add new concepts.

"That makes it special, because even [having played] for years with different managers, you feel he brings something different to the team."

The former Liverpool man has so far managed eleven Bundesliga appearances for the Bavarians having scored one goal. He has also provided his team-mates with a lone assist.
