Inter Milan legend Sandro Mazzola feels that the club need to invest in the squad to help new manager Roberto Mancini.

Mancini managed a 1-1 draw in the Milan derby on Sunday, his first match since he took over from the sacked Walter Mazzarri at Inter.

A point helped the Nerazzurri to climb up to seventh in the league table on 18 points, four points adrift of third placed Napoli.

There is optimism at Inter since the arrival of Mancini, but Mazzola believes the manager needs help from the board to get the club back at the top.

He added that the best of the managers will fail if the squad are not up to scratch and Mazzola is not sure that the current Inter team have the necessary quality to succeed.
