Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has stressed the need for his team to be proactive instead of being reactive in order to win more matches in the Premier League.

The Lilywhites managed to come from behind to secure a vital 2-1 win against ten-man Hull City yesterday.

While the result was pleasing for the former Southampton manager, whose team managed to return to winning ways after a disappointing 2-1 loss against Stoke City earlier this month, Pochettino insists on the need to be proactive in order to further improve on their performance.

“We need to be a proactive team, not a reactive team", the 42-year-old told his club's official site.

“This is what we have to keep in our minds and never wait, always go out to be aggressive and proactive.

"That’s one thing we need to change a little, step by step, we need to improve in this area.

“It’s an important victory and we are all happy. We worked hard, we deserved the win and we all enjoyed the result.”

Tottenham will take on FK Partizan next in the Europa League on Thursday.
