Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has urged his side to improve their performance levels, following their 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace yesterday.

Rickie Lambert gave the Reds a second minute lead at Selhurst Park, but Dwight Gayle equalised for the home team just 15 minutes later.

The Eagles then claimed a memorable victory over Liverpool, courtesy of late goals from Joe Ledley and Mile Jedinak.

And Rodgers, whose side will now play 10 games across three competitions until New Year, starting with a crunch Champions League fixture against Ludogorets on Wednesday, admitted that the Merseyside giants need to put in better displays in the coming weeks.

"We just have to work harder”, the manager told the club’s official site.

“We go away bitterly disappointed with the result and the performance and we have to very quickly put it right, because we've got a massive game now in the week.

"Every game now for us, right the way through a really busy schedule, is an important game. We have to be better.”

Liverpool, who need to beat Ludogorets in Bulgaria to have any chance of progressing to the knockout round of the Champions League, will then welcome Stoke City to Anfield on Saturday.
