Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere will be out of action for a few games due to an ankle injury.

The England midfielder sustained the injury in Arsenal’s 2-1 loss against Manchester United at the Emirates on Saturday.




Wilshere tried to run off the effects of Paddy McNair’s heavy tackle, but was eventually taken off during the second half.

And Wenger has confirmed that the midfielder will be missing Arsenal’s next few games due to the ankle injury.
 


He refused to delve into the severity of the injury, but revealed that Wilshere will consult a specialist regarding his latest injury setback.

"I don't want to say how bad it is because I'm not a specialist medically", the Frenchman said in a press  conference.

"The first news is that he will be out for the next few games.

"To know how long, he will need to see a specialist."

Arsenal will host Borussia Dortmund in a Champions League Group D clash tomorrow before travelling to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom on Saturday.
