Manchester United assistant boss Ryan Giggs admits that Louis van Gaal is a very demanding manager on the training pitch and always asks for the best from his players.

Manchester United registered a hard-fought 2-1 win over Arsenal on Saturday that saw them climb up to fourth spot in the league table.

Giggs admits that the Dutchman is very intense in his preparation for games and is a very demanding man on the training pitch.

The Welshman drew parallels with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson and said that Van Gaal also gets annoyed like the Scotsman if the intensity drops during training sessions.

"He demands that [intensity] in every training session", Giggs told BBC Radio 5 live.
