Arsene Wenger has promised the Arsenal fans that the side will enjoy a "very strong season" and brushed off criticism.

The Gunners went down to a 2-1 defeat at home against Manchester United on Saturday and have won just four of their opening 12 Premier League games.

Wenger has come under fire, but is determined to keep to his course, being convinced that he has the support of the Arsenal board and will deliver a good campaign for the Gunners.

"I've shown I can take criticism in the 18 years I have been here. Everyone has the right to an opinion. We must show solidarity", he told a press conference today, before stressing that he retains the support of everyone within the club.

"There's a very strong bond inside the team and inside the club.

"I believe in what I do and I believe in my players, their quality and their spirit."

Wenger's Arsenal are next in action tomorrow in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund and will hope to return to winning ways.
