Radamel Falcao has insisted that he will silence his critics by banging in the goals for Manchester United this season.

Since joining the Red Devils this summer from Monaco on a season-long loan deal the Colombian has made only three starts for the club.

Injury concerns have limited his opportunities at Old Trafford and doubts have been raised at Louis van Gaal’s rationale in recruiting a striker who only recovered from a career threatening injury earlier this year.

But Falcao is confident that he will stop all the speculation surrounding his form and fitness by banging in the goals for Manchester United.

The Colombian insisted that once he gets used to the Premier League he can replicate his goalscoring form in other leagues at Old Trafford.

“As soon as I play and I will score goals, all the talk will disappear. I have tried to isolate myself from all the speculation”, Falcao told DirecTV Sports.

“With the stats that I have for other clubs, of course the expectations are bound to be high. Unfortunate because of the injury I had to miss a few games.

“I have played five games and have started three of them. I need to play to get used to the new league and once I do, I don’t foresee too many difficulties.”

Falcao is back in training, but it remains to be seen whether Van Gaal names him in the Manchester United squad for next weekend’s home clash against Hull.
