Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has explained that his side are aiming to win their Champions League group, ahead of their clash with Ajax tonight.

The French champions, who are currently atop Group F with 10 points from four games, have already qualified for the knockout round of the continental competition.

However, PSG are far from winning the group as La Liga giants Barcelona are hot on their heels with nine points.

And Blanc, whose side drew 1-1 with Ajax in the corresponding fixture, insisted that a club of Paris Saint-Germain’s stature are always expected to win everything.

“At Ajax we could have won”, he told UEFA’s official site.

“I thought the draw was a decent result, but the critics felt it was a very bad one. When you are Paris Saint-Germain, you need to win everything.

“In the Champions League, the real business starts in March or April, if you manage to get that far.

“We needed to qualify – job done. Now we aim to win our group.”

After welcoming Ajax to the Parc des Princes tonight, Paris Saint-Germain will travel to the Camp Nou for their final group stage fixture against Barcelona next month.
