Celtic assistant manager John Collins has confirmed the Scottish champions have made an offer to John Guidetti.

The Sweden striker is on a season-long loan at Celtic from Manchester City, but with his contract with the Citizens due to expire at the end of the season, can pen a pre-contractual deal from January; Manchester City may also choose to accept a nominal fee for Guidetti in the new year to push through a transfer.

Guidetti has been firmly amongst the goals for Celtic this term, leading to interest from French giants Marseille.

But Celtic are desperate to keep hold of Guidetti and Collins revealed today that the striker, along with Kris Commons, has been offered a contract.

Collins told a press conference: "[They have] been made offers and it's just a wait and see.

"Fingers crossed both will sign their contracts", he added.

Guidetti so far has six goals in the Scottish Premiership to his name for Celtic, while he struck a hat-trick against Partick Thistle in a League Cup tie last month.
