Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has revealed that his team-mates are working hard in order to be at the top of their game every time.

The Pensioners had a rather easy outing in Germany yesterday as they overpowered Schalke with a 5-0 scoreline, thus maintaining their unbeaten run in the Champions League.

The win means that Jose Mourinho's side will now go through to the last 16 stage of the Champions League as the winners of Group G.

The 30-year-old though insists that his team simply cannot afford to take their foot off the pedal as the season gets tougher and they prepare to play a game every three days.

"We are playing as a team at the moment", Ivanovic told his club's official site.

"It’s still an early stage of the year and we know how many games we have to play until the end of the season to win trophies. We have games every three days now.

"At the moment we are very calm and everyone is thinking in the same direction.

"There will be tougher games coming up so we have to be ready for those, but we know how hard we are working right now to be at the top level every game."

Chelsea will visit the Stadium of Light this weekend to take on Sunderland in the Premier League.
