Legendary Italian World Cup winner and former AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta has agreed to join Indian Super League outfit Chennaiyin FC.

The Chennai franchise are currently leading the charts in the inaugural edition of the tournament, but are facing some injury concerns at the moment.




Their in-form striker John Stiven Mendoza has picked up a hamstring injury and has been declared unfit for the rest of the season.

Chennaiyin have signed the legendary Italian defender Nesta as a replacement for the striker for the rest of the campaign.
 


The former AC Milan man is slated to play in the Global Legends Series in Bangkok on 5th December, after which he will arrive in India to join his new team-mates.

Nesta was part of the Azzurri World Cup winning squad in 2006 and has won two Scudettos and two Champions League winners’ medal with AC Milan.

Chennaiyin will next take an away trip to bottom placed North East United FC tomorrow.
