Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp wants Shinji Kagawa to improve his game, ahead of his side’s Champions League meeting with Arsenal tonight.

The Japanese international, who was re-signed by BVB from Manchester United in the summer, has thus far failed to hit the ground running since his return to Signal Iduna Park.

The attacking midfielder has just scored two goals and provided three assists in 14 appearances in all competitions for the German giants this season.

And Klopp, whose side are presently in the relegation zone in the Bundesliga, feels not only Kagawa, but all his charges should put in better displays to turn around their season.

“We are trying to play football the way we can, even if we're not in the best form”, he told UEFA’s official site.

“Everybody has had some problems – Shinji can play better, but that's the case for everybody.

“He has had some good games and also some not so good games, but that is the same for everybody.”

Despite struggling in the Bundesliga with just 11 points from 12 games, Dortmund have been in fine form in the Champions League.

Klopp’s side, who are top of Group D with 12 points from four games, have already qualified to the knockout round of the continental competition.
