Manchester United and Manchester City are making a late entry in the chase for the signature of Real Mallorca playmaker Marco Asensio.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Real Madrid have still not sealed the deal to sign the talented schemer from Mallorca despite claims in Spain that the transfer has been completed.

It was claimed yesterday in the Spanish media that Real Madrid have loaned the teenager back to Mallorca after completing the deal for a transfer fee of €3.5m.

But it has now been claimed the deal is not yet done and to Real Madrid’s dismay Manchester United and Manchester City are making a late entry into the scheme of things for the 18-year-old.

The Red Devils want to complete the deal in January, but Manchester City are willing to wait until the end of the season.
