Former Sporting Lisbon president Sousa Cintra has insisted that Nani will stay at the club until the end of the season.

Manchester United loaned out the underperforming winger to Sporting Lisbon earlier this summer after a disappointing last season at the club.

But in Portugal, Nani has managed to resurrect his career and has scored six goals this term, including a sumptuous strike in Sporting Lisbon’s 3-1 win over NK Maribor last night.

The winger has scored four times in five appearances in the Champions League this season and it is being speculated that Manchester United are keen to bring Nani back to Old Trafford in the winter transfer window.

However, the former Sporting Lisbon president has dashed any hopes of the Red Devils faithful and said that Nani will remain at the club until the summer, when his loan deal expires.
