Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has warned his side about the threats posed by Ludogorets Razgrad, ahead of the teams’ Champions League meeting tonight.

The Reds, who are currently third in Group B with just three points from four outings, edged out the Bulgarian side 2-1 in the corresponding fixture at Anfield in September.

Ludogorets are also on three points, owing to their 1-0 win over Basel last month.

And Rodgers, who explained Liverpool will not take Ludogorets lightly, admitted that Georgi Dermendzhiev’s side have impressed one and all in the Champions League and that they deserved something for their efforts at Anfield.

“We have enormous respect for Ludogorets”, he told UEFA’s official site.

“They were excellent at Anfield in the first game and maybe they should have won more points.

“They have surprised a lot of people. They are technically a very good side.”

Liverpool desperately need the three points in Bulgaria to keep their hope of progressing to the knockout round of the Champions League intact.
