Bastia striker Brandao has received a one-month jail term for head-butting Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta.

He was previously banned for six months by the French Football Federation for the incident that happened in August this year.

The Brazilian striker committed the act of aggression after PSG’s 2-0 win over Bastia at the Parc des Princes.

Security footage revealed that Brandao head-butted the Italian defender outside the players’ changing room and then ran away with Motta, with a broken nose, in pursuit.

His lawyer expects him to serve the sentence through community service and not by spending time in jail.

It is the second time in two seasons that Brandao has faced suspension for foul play. He received a three-match ban for elbowing another PSG player, Yohan Cabaye, last season.
