Santi Cazorla has admitted that Alexis Sanchez is a “very important” player for Arsenal, following the Chilean’s superb display in his side’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League last night.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Gunners from Barcelona in the summer, scored Arsenal’s second goal against BVB at the Emirates Stadium.

Sanchez has been in superb form this season, scoring 13 goals in just 20 appearances in all competitions, in addition to providing three assists.

And Cazorla insisted he is hoping Sanchez continues to put in similar impressive performances for Arsenal throughout the course of the season.

“Alexis is very important for us”, he told UEFA’s official site.
