Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola, has insisted that his client will never play club football in Italy again and suggested the Reds just need to be patient with the summer signing.

The mercurial forward switched to Liverpool this summer from AC Milan after spending little more than 18 months at the San Siro.

He joined AC Milan in January 2013 after a difficult few seasons under Roberto Mancini at Manchester City in England, but his agent, Raiola, insisted that his client’s days in Serie A are over.

He is insistent that Balotelli will never play for a club in Italy again in the future after his stints at Inter Milan and AC Milan.

“Mario will never return to play in Italy”, Raiola told Corriere dello Sport.

“I made a mistake by bringing him back to Italy [with AC Milan].”

Raiola also revealed that Balotelli’s current run of bad form is more down to personal problems than any footballing reasons.

“It is wrong to criticise him. You need to give him to get acclimatised at Liverpool.

His poor form is not related to football rather to the fact that he is not being able to see his daughter regularly.”
