Hull City defender Alex Bruce believes Marouane Fellaini has been one of Manchester United’s best players in the last few weeks.

Fellaini was on the verge of leaving the club this summer after a disastrous first season at Manchester United, but Louis van Gaal decided to persist with him.

And the Belgian has not disappointed the veteran Dutch manager. Since his thumping top corner strike against West Brom as a substitute last month, Fellaini has been a regular starter at the club and has given some assured performances in the middle of the park.

And Bruce, who will face the tall Belgian this Saturday at Old Trafford, has marked the Belgian out as a key threat for Hull City.

Though Manchester United have spent heavily this summer, the defender said that it is Fellaini who has been one of the top performers for the club in the last few weeks.

"Louis van Gaal has spent a lot of money and brought in some quality players like Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao”, Bruce told United Review.

“There are threats all over the pitch and I think Marouane Fellaini has done well in the past few weeks. He scored a great goal at West Brom and it was a huge boost in confidence for him.

"He’s been playing well and I think he has been one of United’s best players in recent weeks. He’s a threat as well as a big physical presence.”
