Leeds United striker Souleymane Doukara insists he is not at all surprised that he is scoring on a regular basis in his first season in the Championship.

The powerful front man joined Leeds in the summer and has wasted little time in making an impression at Elland Road.

Doukara is currently Leeds' leading goalscorer with seven strikes to his name, two ahead of forward partner Mirco Antenucci.

Doukara however is not surprised at having taken to English football like a duck to water, explaining it is his type of game.

"No [I’m not surprised I’ve been scoring]", he told LUTV.

"English football is my football. I love all the stadiums in England and when you go on the pitch you want to score in the game, run and play well."

The striker admits though that the Championship does pose a very physical type of challenge, even if that is one he enjoys.

"The Championship is a hard league. You have to run for all the game. It's physical and it's not easy for people who come here new to the Championship.

"I really enjoy it when I play against a team that are physical. It's not a problem for me."
