Benjamin Stambouli believes Tottenham Hotspur need to improve, despite beating Partizan Belgrade 1-0 this evening to book a last 32 Europa League spot.

Tottenham huffed and puffed in the first half, but saw the game stopped due to pitch invaders in the 41st minute, something which caused a ten minute delay.

Spurs though got the breakthrough they were looking for in the 49th minute through Stambouli.

Where the first half saw Spurs struggle to get going, they had far more pace and purpose in the second period.

But no more goals were forthcoming for the hosts, who recorded a comfortable enough 1-0 win at White Hart Lane.

Stambouli was pleased with the win post match, but also highlighted Tottenham's need to improve.

"It was very good to score and win. It is only positive things for us", the Frenchman told ITV 4.

"We play good teams who love to fight and we need to improve", Stambouli added.
