Celtic manager Ronny Deila feels his team should not be written off in the Europa League, especially has they have a number of months to prepare for their last 32 tie.

The Bhoys slipped to a 3-1 defeat to Red Bull Salzburg at home this evening, but still qualify for the last 32 due to Dinamo Zagreb losing to FC Astra in Romania.

The Scottish champions will now likely take on a group winner in the last 32, but Deila is not downbeat and is remaining positive and confident about their chances of making a big impact in Europe.

"We have been the second best team [in our group] and we have to fight further to go through to the last 16", Deila told a press conference.

"Our expectation is to win every game and everything is possible when you know it is two games and we have a few months to prepare.

"We have one game left in Zagreb, which will be another tough match to prepare for, but right now my thoughts are on the game against Hearts."

Deila also dismissed the impact of third-placed teams in the Champions League dropping into the Europa League.

"I don't think any third placed Champions League team is any better than the team we have met today.

"This is the standard", the Norwegian added.
