Derby County boss Steve McClaren feels the Leeds United players have shown that they will fight for Neil Redfearn.

The former midfielder is Leeds' third permanent boss this season, succeeding David Hockaday and Darko Milanic, who both struggled to earn results with the Whites.

Redfearn had a successful caretaker spell prior to Milanic being appointed and now, back in the hot seat, McClaren feels the Leeds players will give their all for the new boss.

Ahead of Derby's trip to Elland Road tomorrow, McClaren told his club's site: "Neil Redfearn has got the job again; he did very well the first time and deserved to get it now.

"The players have demonstrated that they are going to fight for him, work for him and want to do it for him."

And McClaren feels his Derby side must be wary of a good Leeds team.

"Their attitude is good and they have good players, so like every team in the Championship, they can hurt you if you’re not right.

"The key is to respect the opponent, but we have to make that, from Monday to Friday, the players are focused and doing the work and then Saturday doing the job."
