Louis van Gaal could include Marcos Rojo and Radamel Falcao in his matchday squad for tomorrow's clash against Hull City, but has warned he will not select players based on reputation alone.

Manchester United have been struggling with injuries throughout the campaign, but could receive a boost with the return of Rojo and Falcao.

While confirming the pair could feature against the Tigers, Van Gaal told a press conference: "Every player in my selection has to fight for his position."

Van Gaal also provided an update on Daley Blind, who is out with a knee injury sustained on international duty.

"I gave him a holiday and he came back on Monday", Van Gaal explained.

"He has to exercise and practice every day as an injured player has to train more than the fit players."

The Manchester United manager further confirmed that Luke Shaw has an ankle ligament injury, but without serious damage.

Van Gaal expects the left-back to be out for the next three weeks.
