Bordeaux coach Willy Sagnol believes that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry deserves a statue in France due to his contribution to the country's game.

Henry may play the last game of his professional career with New York Red Bulls on Saturday, if they exit the MLS playoffs.

The 37-year-old's contract with the New York-based club is set to end this year and he is expected to hang up his boots when their campaign has finished.

It has been speculated that Henry could join former club Arsenal as part of boss Arsene Wenger's coaching staff, but Sangol would be delighted for the hitman to help out Bordeaux's strikers.

"This player deserves a statue in France as he is just the same as Just Fontaine, Michel Platini and Zinedine Zidane", Sagnol told reporters.

"If he wants to give a hand to our attackers and share his experience, he is more than welcome!

"The door is wide open at Bordeaux for him", the coach added.

Henry played in French football for just one club in his career, Monaco, but did win 123 caps for France at international level, scoring 51 goals.
